Maple syrup has been around for hundreds of years, and its production continues virtually unchanged by modern technology. Real maple syrup is a native treasure, and it's only possible to produce it in the northeastern part of North Amercia where specific weather conditions allow this magic to happen. The sap of the sugar maple looks like water and tastes like water with just a hint of mapley sweetness and flows in the late winter and early spring.
Maple Syrup is 100% pure & natural food that supplies us with thiamine, calcium and iron. Maple syrup is only produced in North America; Dutchman’s Gold Maple Syrup is supplied from Ontario producers.
Care of your Maple Syrup
Maple Syrup should be refrigerated after opening to retain flavour and prevent slow fermentation and mold formation. It may also be frozen to help retain its pure maple flavour. Properly stored, maple syrup will keep for a year or more. If it develops sugar crystals you can warm the syrup to dissolve them in a container of hot water.
Directions for use: Maple Syrup may be used as a natural, healthy sweetner in coffee and tea; over ice cream and fresh fruit; in dishes such as baked beans or stir-frys and with vegetables such as squash and carrots.
Maple Syrup has traditionally been poured over pancakes, waffles, french toast and sausages.
