FAQ: Dutchman's Gold Honey

Dutchman's Gold Honey is pure, natural, and non-pasteurized.  Every spoonful is the product of our experienced  beekeepers’ hives.  We produce three distinctive blends of 100% Canadian honey: Summer Blossom, Wildflower and Buckwheat.   Our honey is available in raw, liquid or creamed, or blended with flavours like cinnamon, raspberry or cocoa, and with products from the beehive (royal jelly & bee pollen). We take the quality of our honey seriously as it has been family owned and operated since 1981.

How to take care of your Honey

Honey is one of the few products in the world that never goes bad.  Honey found in the tombs of Egyptian pharaohs was still edible after thousands of years.

Liquid Honey - To help prevent crystallization, keep it at room temperature or in the freezer.

Creamed Honey - If you prefer a firm texture, keep it in the fridge, or may be stored at room temperature.

If Honey Crystallizes - Place open jar in pan of hot water, or heat gently in microwave.

Interesting Honey & Honey Bee FAQ:

  • To make just one pound of honey, a hive of 60,000 Canadian honeybees will fly the equivalent of twice around the world and visit two million flowers.
  • Every day, a honeybee makes 10 trips to visit more than 1,000 flowers.
  • Hardworking Canadian honeybees fly at 20 kilometers an hour and their wings beat 190 times per second.
  • Over its life, each Canadian honeybee will make just 1/10th of a teaspoon (.5ml) of honey.
