Honey is a wonderful addition to so many great recipes!

Recipes Using Honey and Honey Tips

Honey adds natural sweetness to everything and provides healthful benefits.

Honey can replace many recipes that call for sugar by substituting 1/2 to 2/3 cup of honey
for every one cup of sugar called for in the recipe.
Reduce the amount of liquid in the recipe by 1/4 cup for each cup of honey used in baked goods
or add 1/2 cup flour.
Optional: add 1/4 to 3/4 tsp. baking soda for each cup of honey used.
Reduce oven temperature by 25 F. when using honey to prevent over browning.

Drizzle warm honey over pancakes or waffles
Sweeten your coffee and tea with honey instead of sugar.
                                                                (Use half the amount of honey for twice the sweetening power! )

For a creamy topping, gradually add 1/4 cup honey to one cup whipping cream while beating to stiff peaks

Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette
1/2 cup canned apricot halves, drained
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup Ontario honey
1 garlic clove minced
2 tsp. Dijon mustard
1 tsp. dried italian seasoning
1/4 tsp. each salt and pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor until smooth. With motor still running, very gradually drizzle in oil until thoroughly combined. 
Makes one cup
Honey Bran Muffins
3 eggs
1/2 cup Ontario honey
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3 1/2 cups 100% bran cereal
1 1/2 cups milk
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 cup raisins (optional)
Beat eggs, oil and hone in small bowl until blended.
Combine bran cereal with milk in large bowl, let stand for 5 minutes. add egg mixture to cereal mixture and mix lightly. Combine flour, baking soda cinnamon and raisins into bran mixture. DO NOT OVER MIX
Bake 350 F. for 20-25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean when inserted in muffin. 
Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
Best served warm
Nonfat Chocolate Honey Dip
1 cup nonfat sour cream
1/2 cup Ontario honey
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp. vanilla
Combine all ingredients until well blended. Cover and chill until ready to serve. 
Serve with assorted fruits (strawberries, pineapple, kiwi, grapes, pears) and or chunks or angel food cake.
Breakfast Blast
1 1/2 cups plain yogurt
3/4 cup orange juice
3/4 cup pineapple or apple juice
2 tbsp. Ontario honey
8 ice cubes
combine all ingredients in a blender or shaker until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.
4 servings
